Lauren Tignor grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia, in Athens, where she graduated magna cum laude, with a degree in Sociology and Psychology. While attending UGA, one of her professors recognized her potential and encouraged her to go to law school. Upon graduation, she worked as a paralegal for an Atlanta firm. After several years, she decided to enroll in law school at Georgia State University. While at GSU Law, she had the opportunity to spend a semester studying international legal systems in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. She also interned with the Georgia Capital Defender’s office, where she worked on death penalty appeals. Ms. Tignor graduated in 2010, Magna Cum Laude, and was recognized for her oral advocacy skills.
After passing the bar exam, Ms. Tignor moved took an associate position with the Savannah, GA law firm of Williams and Pine, where she practiced criminal defense, Real Estate, and Family Law. She soon learned that she had a passion for litigation, in particular criminal defense. She spent two years with The Wade Law Firm, where she practiced strictly criminal law. In addition, she held the position of Contract Public Defender with the Pooler Municipal Court, and Conflict Defender with the Chatham County Recorder’s Court for many years. Ultimately, she decided to hang her own shingle and opened the Tignor Law Firm in 2016.
Ms. Tignor has spent her entire career in the courtroom fighting for her clients. Unlike many attorneys, she has a personal relationship with each and every client. She understands that going through a legal issue is one of the most stressful experiences a person can have. She will advocate fiercely for your rights, and be there to guide you and answer your questions.
In her personal life, Ms. Tignor serves on a local school board, volunteers in animal rescue, and is an advocate for organ donation. She was given a second chance at life through a lifesaving organ transplant. She strives to honor her donor’s memory by helping others.
